Retaining existing template features
Selecting New from AnyLabels File menu and pushing the OK button in the New Template dialog without entering any data creates an empty template with no data connection.
Creating a new database file while leaving the template filename blank will create new database file for the current template, retaining elements and formatting on the label design and using the existing fieldnames (unless you edit these) – but, of course, no data in the fields!.
To make a new template and database pair that retains the elements and formatting of an existing pair, just save the existing template with a new name, then select New from the File menu and create a new database file while leaving the template filename blank.
