Selection Print mode

Selection Print mode allows a secondary view of each record to be created with the sole purpose of allowing the selection of records on screen. The secondary view is called Selection View. When Selection View is selected from the View menu this secondary view is displayed, and selecting Designer from the Edit menu allows the secondary view to be created or edited. Selecting either Single Label or Page View from the View menu while in Selection View returns the display to the primary view of the records.

In Selection View either a single record may be selected or several records may be selected and the selected records printed. The printed records are printed using the primary view and NOT the secondary view. This permits a simple and compact screen layout for selection to be created and allows data not included on the print to be used for selection purposes.

Records selected (by clicking on them) for printing are shown, along with the number of copies of the record to be printed. Selecting a record while holding down the <Alt> key pops up a dialog box allowing the number of copies to be entered manually. Pressing the Escape key at any time clears the selection.

Enabling Selection Print mode adds one item to the File menu – Selection Print – F10, and one item to the Edit menu – Selection View – F7.

Choosing Selection View displays the secondary view of the data, and in this mode choosing Designer from the Edit menu allows the design of the Secondary template.

Selecting either Single Label (F5) or Page View (F6) from the View menu returns the display to the main template view of the data.

A number of options allow for rapid printing and clearing the selection after printing.
